The great singer - songwriter Willie Nelson was born in Abbott in 1933.
Much like the Greatful Dead and Jimmy Buffett, these days Willie's "scene" is probably more popular than this music. This cache pays homage to the man, his music, and his "scene".
The Red Headed Stranger album was recorded for under $20,000 and financed solely by Nelson and it became his first double-platinum release.
Today, Abbott is a living ghost town. It seems to wither away as you drive through it. On the road into town, there are several abandoned dwellings (and I use the term 'dwellings' loosely).
