🇴🇲 Famous Lava Pillow Basalts🌋

🌋 Welcome to one of the rarest geological sites in the world, the Lava Pillow Basalts of Wadi Al-Jizzi, Sohar.

🕰️ These formations were created around 230 million years ago during the Middle Triassic period, in a deep oceanic rift known as the New Tethys Ocean 🌊.

As molten basaltic lava emerged through seafloor cracks and instantly cooled by the surrounding ocean water 💦, it formed these iconic “pillow-like” shapes 🪨🌋.

Today, these rocks sit exposed on the surface of Oman, a silent story of Earth’s ancient oceanic crust 🌏… and now, the hiding place for your next treasure 🗝️.

🚗 Your Journey Begins at the parking point (no 4×4 required):

Next to a small bridge 🌉 overlooking the site, you will see:

• 🌳 A lone Christ’s Thorn Jujube tree

• 📡 A small telecom signboard

• 🅿️ A safe place to park

From here, you’ll have 3 paths to climb the hill, choose based on your fitness level:

• ➡️ Right path: Hard 💪

• ⬆️ Middle path: Easy 😌

• ⬅️ Left path: Moderate ⚖️

🧩 Finding the Treasure:

After hiking 150–200 meters uphill, you’ll reach a semi-flat rocky zone featuring around 10 natural cavities of various shapes and sizes carved into the basalt wall 🪨.

❓ Only one holds the treasure, and it’s shaped like a turtle shell 🐢.
⚠️ No digging required, just explore, observe, and respect the landscape 🌿.

💡 Hint:

🔍 Look for the cavity that resembles a turtle shell. It blends in perfectly with the rock, but it’s there, waiting for you 🗝️.

📦 Inside the Cache:

The treasure is stored in a clear glass bottle 🫙 tucked safely in its hiding spot. Inside, you’ll find:

• 📝 A logbook

• 💌 Handwritten notes

• 🎁 Small personal items and mementos

Feel free to read, reflect, and leave something of your own 💖.
Please handle the bottle carefully and return it exactly as you found it.
