CZ: Hmyz (Insecta) je třída šestinohých živočichů z kmene členovců, kteří mají tělo rozdělené do tří článků (hlava, hruď a zadeček). Pro všechny druhy je charakteristické, že mají tři páry nohou, většinou mají složené oči, tykadla a jsou jedinými členovci, kteří umějí aktivně létat. Jedná se o nejrůznorodější skupinu živočichů.
