Geocache Description:

Near Arkansas River, north of Buena Vista City Park.

The Gone Fishin' Cache is BACK! Please visit it with fishing theme items.

WE ARE THE OWNERS OF GONE FISHIN; WE TRIED TO FIND IT ON 4/29/06 AND IT WASN'T THERE! WE ARE PLANNING TO REPLACE IT, HOPEFULLY THIS WEEK. WE'LL POST AN UPDATE WHEN WE HAVE REPLACED IT. IN THE MEANTIME, WET SOME FLIES ON THE ARKANSAS RIVER!

This is a fishing theme cache. All items in the cache are fishing related; please replace with fishing stuff, too.

Take Main Street east from Highway 24 in Buena Vista to City Park. Go north on dirt road to parking area (approximately
N38° 51.035; W106° 07.611). Either take the stairs down to the river and go about 315 ft. north or go north on dirt path about 315 ft. The cache is tucked in between big rocks about half way between the path at the top of the hill and the river below.

The cache is a 10"X 10" square tupperware container with a cream top. Inside are nippers, strike indicator, clear bubble, small bobber, orange rooster tail, Alda's forever soap (fish theme), large fishing tree ornament and a fly box containing pairs of flies stuck into post-it notes. The notes name the fly and it's size (e.g., muddler #10). There are also extra post-it notes for exchange of flies.≈
