Since January 2025, Victorian cachers have been hiding caches in their local area in a series known as...A Jigidi For. These are online Jigsaw puzzle caches, that are placed in towns, villages, hamlets, localities and crossroads around Victoria. The series was first started in South Australia, by South Australian cachers. At the time of writing 100 Victorian...A Jigidi For...puzzles have been published.
To celebrate the series and the caches in it, as well as all the Victorian cachers who have published one, there will be an event...at the Geographic Centre of Victoria. The details of the event are:
When: Sunday 19 October 2025
Where: The Mandurang Recreation Reserve - Sedgwick Road Mandurang Vic
Time: 12.00pm - 1.00pm (1 hour)
FYI - Mandurang, the geographic centre of Victoria, is approx 10 klms south of Bendigo.
Feel free to bring your own picnic style lunch and chair to enjoy on the day.
Giveaways at the Event
There will be a few giveaways on the day. These will be for the cacher/s who have found the most Victorian...A Jigidi For...caches, as well as the cacher/s who have hidden the most Victorian...A Jigidi For...caches. In each caterogy, a cacher will give an entry into the draw for every cache in the series they have found, and one for every cache in the series they have hidden. There will then be a separate draw for each caterogy. As an example, if you have found 15 A Jigidi For caches, you will be given 15 entries into that draw. If you have hidden 5 A Jigidi For Caches, you will be given 5 entires into that draw.
There may also be other giveaways on the day.
The Object of the Series
Obviously the main idea of the series is to have more caches for us all to find, but to also showcase those towns, villages, hamlets, localities and crossroads around Victoria that you want to show off to others...especially those who don't live in the area. With that in mind, the jigsaws in the series would ideally be between 10-80 pieces. This is to encourage those cachers that have not sovled the puzzle before arriving in an area to do so quickly before heading off to find the cache. The name of the area should featured in the puzzle, so that it identifies the actual area. This name could be the sign that is seen as you approach the area...or anything within the area that highlights the name.
