Welcome to the South Oxhey Baptist Church on Gosforth Lane, an area with a rich history of community and worship. The current building, designed by architect Victor Knowles, officially opened on January 17, 1953, and was later extended in 2010.

The church is a key part of the area's post-World War II development, but the land's history goes much further back. It was once part of the ancient Oxhey Hall Estate, with records mentioning a chapel as early as 1612.
The area's religious history is also tied to the now-closed Oxhey Village Baptist Church, which served the community for an impressive 92 years before closing its doors in 2003. As you search for this cache, take a moment to appreciate the many layers of history that make up this unique corner of Bushey.
