Geocache Description:

This is near the start (or finish) of a track which has now been designated one of the Great Walks of NZ. It takes you through a variety of terrain and native bush. It is also part of a tramping track taking in the Pororari River to Punakaiki or the Inland Pack Track through to Fox River.

The cache is situated off track but stealth will still be required at times. You will need to bring your own pen/pencil and there is no room for trackables.

Coordinates can be a bit flaky here so this is reflected in the difficulty rating. Please ensure the cache is covered with camo after signing the log. You may find tweezers and even a torch handy here depending on the time of day you visit.

ADDITIONAL INFO

The cache is about 3½-4m to the left (if facing the track) of the large cluster of trunks/branches etc. (photo below) It is a black bison, securely attached.
