Sandstone Peak (AKA Mt. Allen) is the highest point located in the Santa Monica Mountains (approx. 3111') along the Backbone Trail. Access is best from the Circle X ranch area Sandstone Peak Trailhead parking lot off of Yerba Buena Road. Bring Sturdy shoes for the climb on the rocks.
