琵琶湖疏水第１トンネルの入り口
第１トンネルは、日本で初めて竪坑方式で造られた全長２，４３６ｍのトンネルである。
トンネル上部には、伊藤博文の揮ごうによる「気象萬千（きしょうばんせん）」の扁額がある。「気象萬千」とは、「様々に変化する風光は素晴らしい」という意味で、出典は北宋・范仲淹(はんちゅうえん)「岳陽樓記(がくようろうき)」である。
