Geocache Description:

Located in the City of Fredericton, the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge was once a CN Railway bridge, built in 1889.  It rattled under steam engines for decades before becoming a pedestrian paradise in 1997. Spanning the Saint John River with swagger, it offers 580 metres of scenic strolling, joggers dodging dogs, and cyclists pretending not to be racing. Named after local legend Bill Thorpe, educator, municipal politician, and father of the Fredericton Trail system.  The bridge is a selfie hotspot and moonlights as a beer garden during summer festivals. On foggy mornings, it briefly becomes the set of a zombie movie, and at sunset, it is romance central (with bonus mosquitoes).
