Located in the Village of New Maryland, Saint Mary the Virgin Anglican Church has been a quiet and steady presence in the community since its construction in 1863. It's known for its significance as a Neo-Gothic church designed by Rev. Edward S. Medley and his father, Bishop John Medley. The church is a notable example of the many Neo-Gothic churches built in New Brunswick during Bishop John Medley's episcopate. Over the years, it has been the site of many important moments—weddings, baptisms, funerals.
The church was deconsecrated in 2019 and is now leased to The New Maryland Heritage Association Inc. Saint Mary the Virgin remains a meaningful part of New Maryland’s historical landscape.
