The Tri-County Complex in the Municipality of Fredericton Junction is proof that when small communities band together, big dreams happen. Back in 1990, a local doctor sparked a vision that brought seven communities to work toward a shared goal. It took 15 years for a population of just 3,700 to raise $100,000—and then another $1 million in the next three years. Along the way, they started an outdoor hockey program with low fees and equipment loans, welcoming every kid who wanted to play. That program quickly grew to 13 teams and 150 players, eventually moving into the new multi-million-dollar Tri-County Complex. Today, the complex hosts hockey, bowling, roller skating, pickleball, and more, serving as a lively community hub. It’s a proud symbol of perseverance, proving that even small towns can score big—both on the ice and in life.
