If you find the magnet screw cache, great! Cache found. Please enjoy the surrounding area - it is a slice of Heaven.
BUT
if want to go on a little adventure, continue reading.
The "Mary Birch Knot" Tree (attempt number 2 for Geosaint #1)
- This "adventure" takes you along the Wildlife Refuge trail, to a birch tree located just off trail. (Since geocache-hiding within the Refuge is prohibited, I have not hidden this cache at the tree. But you can still visit the Refuge).
- ⚠ If the Trail is unmaintained (tall grass) at the time you are caching, please do not attempt to find the Birch Knot Mary tree. Ticks (well, their diseases) are real threats to our health. You may not be able to attempt finding the tree until tick season is over. (I'm sorry).
Mary Birch Knot Tree Coordinates: N 46° 35.498 W 090° 58.030
Directions:
1. Head SOUTH on the nearby trail. (Begins West of the Coaster Classroom). Or if you'd rather: walk the road south (the way you came), to Cherryville.
2. Cross Cherryville. (If you are walking the road, you need to jog over West a little bit).
2. On the trail, still heading SOUTH, keep walking until you get to a "Bridge Ahead" sign. You are almost there.
3. The Mary Birch Knot tree will be on the left (EAST of trail). See if you can find her.
4. If you find her, post a photo in the comments. If you do not find her, I hope that you have at least enjoyed the scenery.
