Geocaching turns another year older and Geocaching Southland does too... Hard to believe that 11 years ago (16th August 2014) Granville86a and (mrs)Chosen1978 setup a night cache extravaganza with three night cache trails behind the scout camp at sandy point, and Geocching Southland was created. 11 logged attendees came together for a Potluck dinner and then out into the dark for some night caching - lots of laughter and chatter were heard in the woods that night.
We, Geocaching Southland as a group, have meet a lot of people of the past 11 years and had some amazing adventures around Southland, Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, Christchurch, Oamaru and Dunedin together.
We have seen some great friendships created around this hobby/sport/activity we call caching and lost some great friends too...
So to celebrate this year we will meet outside the Cheeky Ilama for a scavenger hunt around Queens Park followed by a hot cuppa to have a catch up.
Guidelines and locations will be provided at 9.30am. Those unable to race around the park are welcome to stay at the cafe till everyone returns with an event organiser as per geocching event guidelines.
