Welcome to Viscri — a unique Saxon village in Transylvania, known for its cobbled lanes, fortified church, and beautifully preserved rural heritage.
This cache is hidden along the walking path that connects the public parking area to the center of the village. Cars are not allowed inside the main village area, which makes for a peaceful and authentic experience: visitors explore on foot, passing traditional houses, hay carts, chickens, and friendly neighbors.
The cache is located in the courtyard of a traditional Saxon household, now home to an artisans' shop. Craftspeople sell handmade ceramics, woven textiles, woodwork, and other items inspired by centuries-old techniques. Feel free to visit — the shop supports local families and traditions.
Viscri's story goes back to the 12th century, when Saxon settlers built the village and its famous fortified church, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The past lives on in every detail: the painted wooden gates, the stone walls, and the way time seems to slow down.
