The group of Maynards had been on an un-authorized team building hike. You may ask yourself, why would this be un-authorized. Well, their Mistress of Quack has been pretty brutal with giving out authorization for a, or any for that matter, field trips. so for Maynard to leave the safety of the house, it was in fact un-authorized. However, the recent additional of a Jumbo Maynard to her flock incited the other Maynards to escape the house, high tail it over to the forest, and hike the Inner Rim Trail. They stopped for a pond scum and water break where the trail crosses the sumit of FS 6613. While enjoying their meal, the location was dubbed and claimed in the name of the Maynards as "Maynards Pass". In honor of this happening, they left a memorial geocache so others could reval in the coolness that is Maynard.
Maynards Pass is located at the high point of FS 6613 within the Black Hills National Forest, specifically the Schroeder area just west of Rapid City. FS 6613 is open to Hiking, Biking & Horses year round. It is also open to Motor Vehicles, 62" width limited, from 15 May to 15 Dec, weather permitting.
