Geocache Description:

I think the first time I ever met GrammieC was at an event I held to prep caches for the summer park challenge, back in 2022, but she found her first cache in Maryland, back in April of 2021. Since then, she has racked up 2000 caches and hidden 43 of her own including a couple of sneaky and creative hides. GrammieC hit the 1000 benchmark in March at Dewski's TB Hotel, but blew right past that when se stayed together in West Virginia, for GeoWoodstock. Her sidekick, or possibly her mentor, erin61284, accompanies her on many of her adventures and was kind enough to supply some pictures, one of which I cropped for this cache page. (You are more likely to see Erin's name on a log sheet than on an on-line log, so who knows when she will join the comma club.) One thing cachers should know about GrammieC is that she has a soft spot for animals and is constantly assisting with rescues of lost and injured pets. My artistic skills are only passable but I added a hermit crab to her tribute cache, and I hope it's recognizable. . .but she will tell you that the ones that live in her home really belong to her grandson.

When discussing the possibility of this cache, I got a strange missive from a "new" cacher which I have included here:

Re: GrammieC 2000 Finds

Dear LCSM,
I hear GrammieC has reached 2000 finds! I would like to assist in the celebration efforts
surrounding this great achievement. First, here is a cake recipe I think would be adequate:
Ingredients
Chocolate Cake
1 C unsweetened soy milk
1 T apple cider vinegar
1 t salt
2 C all purpose flour
1 3/4 C granulated sugar
3/4 C cocoa powder
2 t baking powder
1 1/2 t baking soda
1/2 C canola oil
2/3 C unsweetened applesauce
1 C boiling water
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
1 C cocoa powder
1 1/2 C vegan butter, softened (preferably cashew based if no nut allergies)
4-5 C powdered sugar
2 t pure vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 C unsweetened soy milk
Instructions
Chocolate Cake
1. Preheat oven to 350oF; grease two 9-inch cake pans and line with parchment paper.
2. Gently whisk together the 1 C soy milk, 1 T apple cider vinegar, and 1 t salt, and set
aside to curdle.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and
baking soda.
4. Make a well and add in the canola oil, the apple sauce, the vanilla, and the curdled milk.
Mix with a hand mixer (or stand mixer with paddle) on medium speed until well
combined.
5. Lower the speed and pour in the boiling water, allowing the batter to become very
runny.

6. Divide the batter evenly between cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a
toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
1. Add cocoa powder to a large bowl and whisk well to remove any clumps.
2. Add the softened vegan butter and mix with a hand mixer until well combined.
3. Add half of the powdered sugar and half of the soy milk, and mix until combined. Add
the rest of the powdered sugar and the vanilla extract. Mix on low, and turn to high, until
fluffy and wel combined.
4. If the frosting is too dry, add more soy milk, tablespoon by tablespoon. If it is too wet
and doesn’t hold its shape, add more powdered sugar until it thickens up.
5. Frost the cake with an icing spatula or a butter knife.

That recipe has nothing to do with the caches we placed, but I did leave a cake inside
Waypoint 1 today. I believe you have the coordinates. All we need is a certitude checker, and
the passphrase is in the icing!
Cache on,

AdequateBakeware

Four of us hiked over to place the containers and there are 3 things I would like to warn you all about. First, there were zillions of mosquitoes out. Second, there is a bridge to cross which is sturdy and safe, but not for the faint of heart, and third, there is another multi on this same trail which you may want to start before you head in on the trail.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Also, since this is a tribute cache, please allow GrammieC to have the FTF honors - but maybe Erin should go along to get past that bridge!
