This is the 39th cache in the Blenheim Chorus Cabinet Art (CCA) series started by myself and expanded upon by PaoloB72 and ricardinho.nz. Since starting in Blenheim the CCA format has been franchised out and there are now CCA series expanding in Nelson, the West Coast (Greymouth and Westport), and more recently Christchurch (more accurately entitled CCCCA for Christchurch City Chorus Cabinet Art).
New Zealand's regional geocaching guidelines do not allow for geocaches to be placed on telecommunications cabinets or electrical company power boxes, (although from time to time you may come across the odd one where the CO is not aware of, or ignores these guidelines), so in most cases, these tend to be offset multis or caches formatted in such a way where the coordinates need to calculated or solved. Therefore, you will not find the cache at the listed coordinates, so don't look there.
The artwork that inspired this cache was painted by the students of Waitaria Bay School whose relief teacher lives in Rarangi.
The comments on the artwork on the Street Art page of the Marlborough District Council (MDC) website states:
The students of Waitaria Bay School were inspired by their release teachers stories of weekend walks in Rārangi with her dog. The students were inspired by the notion of walks at sunset/sunrise, the ocean, and the bird life.
To work out the final coordinates for this cache, firstly complete the linked Jigidi puzzle. This will give you some coordinates that you will need to apply a correction factor to. The correction factor is a single digit number which needs to be subtracted from the corrected 'Minutes' given on the Jigidi puzzle. The number can be found on the yellow warning sign to the right of the cabinet and is followed by the letters JNTS.
