👽 Westall 60 Years On – The UFO Anniversary Gathering 👽

Beam on down and join your fellow geocachers as we celebrate one of Australia’s greatest mysteries — the Westall UFO incident of 1966, now marking its 60th anniversary!

Back in 1966, more than 200 students and teachers from Westall High School witnessed something truly out of this world — a shiny, saucer-shaped object hovering over Clayton South before zipping away at incredible speed.

The Westall UFO was a reported UFO sighting in Australia that occurred on 6 April 1966 in Melbourne, Victoria. The object was observed by multiple individuals. Specific details vary between accounts, which increases the difficulty of identification. The sighting has been commemorated with documentaries, reunions and a local UFO playground.

Six decades later, we’re returning to the scene (give or take a few coordinates) to swap stories, share laughs, and maybe keep one eye on the sky... just in case.

There’s a playground for the junior space cadets, BBQs for hungry humans, and toilet facilities for those who’ve had too much rocket fuel (aka coffee) — so come prepared for a fun and friendly morning of caching and curiosity.
