About SideTracked Caches

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breathtaking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website

Helmdon Village Station was opened in 1872 on the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway. It featured two platforms, a red-brick station building, and a small goods shed. The station served the rural community for nearly 80 years before closing to passengers in 1951 and to goods shortly after. During the 1890s, it also acted as a supply point for the construction of the nearby Great Central Railway viaduct. Though the buildings are long gone, the trackbed and cutting beneath Station Road can still be seen today.
