Elle a été construite sur le lieu d'une église primitive bâtie en hommage à Felix, évangélisateur de la vallée du Rhône. Elle était alors à l'intérieur des remparts du château, au-dessous du donjon, aujourd'hui disparu.
Elle a récemment été rénovée en 2024/2025 grâce à la Fondation du Patrimoine et le Loto du Patrimoine, en lien avec la Mairie de Marsanne.
