Superhero

Superheroes have captivated audiences for generations, and many have left an indelible mark on both comic books and pop culture. From their incredible abilities to their timeless storylines, these heroes have evolved beyond their original comic book pages and become global icons. When highlighting the most popular superheroes of all time, fans will see how these characters have unique traits, relatable struggles, and unforgettable adventures that have cemented their place in comic history. Whether they soar through the skies, run at lightning speed, or fight crime with unmatched intelligence and strength, these heroes continue to inspire fans across the world.

Hugo Hercules is considered the first superhero in comics. The comic strip was drawn by Wilhelm H.D. Korner and appeared on Sundays in the Chicago Tribune from September 1902 to January 1903. Korner's dark-haired, broad-shouldered character with superhuman powers predates Superman — the Man of Steel — by thirty-six years!

The first “Superhero Group” in comic book history — the “OGs” of the superhero gendre — is generally considered to be the Justice Society of America (JSA), which debuted in All-Star Comics #3, published by DC Comics in 1940. The JSA included characters like Doctor Fate Housman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman.

This team is notable for being the first to bring together superheroes into a single unit, setting the stage for later teams like the Justice League of America (JLA), the Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, the Fantastic Four and others.
