Útek cez Železnú oponu #2
"Včera, dne 20. srpna 1968 kolem 23. hodiny překročila vojska Sovětského svazu, Polské lidové republiky, Německé demokratické republiky, Maďarské lidové republiky a Bulharské lidové republiky státní hranice Československé socialistické republiky..."
Keď si pred 57 rokmi o druhej v noci občania Československa vypočuli toto hlásenie československého rozhlasu, vedeli že sa práve začali smutné časy. Sovietska moc rázne prejavila svoj názor na to, kam až má siahať ich vplyv, ukončila Pražské jaro a náš pokus o "Socializmus s ľudskou tvárou". Hranice sa opať zavreli a záujemcovia o útek na Západ riskovali pri úteku svoj život na prísne strážených hraniciach.
Aj tento rok si 57-te výročie príchodu "bratov" z východu pripomenieme pokusom o útek na Západ. Vodnou cestou - cez rieku Moravu.
Oproti pokusom o útek z totalitných čias to budeme mať podstatne ľahšie:
- nemusíme ísť v noci
- netreba preliezať ani strihať žiadne ostnaté ploty
- nikto po nás nebude strieľať
Prosím prineste si vlastné plavidlo a repelent. Aktívna účasť na evente je na vlastné riziko.
Escape through the Iron Curtain #2
“Yesterday, on August 20, 1968, around 11 p.m., the armed forces of the Soviet Union, the People’s Republic of Poland, the German Democratic Republic, the Hungarian People’s Republic, and the People’s Republic of Bulgaria crossed the state borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic…"
When, 57 years ago at 2 a.m., the citizens of Czechoslovakia heard this announcement on Czechoslovak Radio, they knew a dark chapter had just begun. The Soviet regime forcefully expressed its view on how far its influence should reach, bringing an end to the Prague Spring and our attempt at a "Socialism with a human face". The borders were closed once again, and those seeking to escape to the West risked their lives crossing heavily guarded borders.
Also this year, we will commemorate the 5ýth anniversary of the arrival of our "brothers" from the East by an attempt to escape to the West. By water - across the Morava River.
Compared to the escape attempts from totalitarian times, we will have it much easier:
- we don't have to go at night
- no need to climb over or cut any barbed fences
- no one will shoot at us
