A tribute to Croatian national anthem
Surrounded by the ruins of Cesargrad, the Madonna of Risvica chapel and wooded slopes of the river Sutla gorge, on the road Klanjec - Kumrovec, there is a monument to Croatian national anthem "Lijepa naša".
The monument has been raised marking the 100-year anniversary of the national anthem by the brothers of the Croatian Dragons, in honour of Antun Mihanović, its author.
Today's official anthem of the Republic of Croatia was published for the first time in the 10th copy of "Danica" newspaper in 1835., and in 1846. Josip Runjanin set it to music. By the end of the century the song became very popular among the Croatians, and it was renamed by its first verse "Lijepa naša domovino" (Our beautiful homeland).
At already legendary place of inspiration for Antun Mihanović for the mentioned song, The Brothers of Croatian Dragons, during the short period of three months, raised the obelisk according to the design of sculptor Rudolf Iveković.
The monument, which is 13.2 meters high, was unveiled on November 24th 1935. at the large national celebration.
This cache was initialy set on 08/12/2012 as GC3TE3P. It was micro, but due to the lack of maintainance was archived 2 years ago. As this place deserves cache this time a bigger box was placed. The container is 12cm x 12cm x 6cm Lock&Lock plastic container covered with camouflage tape.
