A Praia do Castelejo é uma praia atlântica singular, desenhada entre imponentes falésias de rocha negra, tendo como principal característica uma grande formação rochosa – a Pedra da Laje, que marca incontestavelmente a paisagem, dando origem ao nome da praia, Castelejo – um pequeno castelo.
Miradouro do Castelejo, um local de culto para os marisqueiros locais. É nesse local que fazem a observação das condições do mar. A praia integra-se em pleno Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina.

On the north side of Praia do Castelejo there is a series of rock formations that separate the beach from Praia da Cordoama. One of these rocks is very big and is known as Pedra da Laje.
Pedra da Laje kind of resembles a castle, which also gives Praia do Castelejo its name. In general you can often see fishermen around these rocks, because there is plenty of fish here. In addition, during low tide you can actually find rock pools with an abundance of marine life between the rocks. Children usually love to explore these rock pools, which is possible because the water is calm here during low tide.
