Het Eindhovens Kwartet is de oudste actieve serie geocaches in Eindhoven.
Loop vier multi's in vier verschillende hoeken van de stad en vind daarna de bonus.
The Eindhovens Kwartet is the oldest active series of geocaches in Eindhoven.
Find four multi caches in different corners of the city and then the bonus.
Noord-West - Noord-Oost - Zuid-West - Zuid-Oost - Compleet

Eindhovens Kwartet Noord-West is een wandeling van ongeveer 3,5 kilometer, in de buurt van het Beatrixkanaal.

Belangrijk!
Met de auto kun je het beginpunt alleen vanuit het noorden legaal bereiken: A2 afslag 29,
bij N51°27.835 E005°25.089 linksaf,
bij N51°28.089 E005°24.243 weer links,
bij N51°27.657 E005°23.897 weer links.

Op het beginpunt kunnen enkele auto's in de berm parkeren.
Op deze coördinaten (N 51 27.338 E 5 24.368) vind je een aantal betonnen paaltjes, in de zuidoosthoek van de kruising. Noteer (betonnen paaltjes)*2 als A.

Omdat de situatie op het startpunt flink is gewijzigd sinds de publicatie van deze cache kan ik ook een alternatieve startlocatie adviseren: Rond N51 27.033 E005 24.607 zijn voldoende mogelijkheden te vinden in de wijk. Voor A neem je dan het eerste cijfer van het wijknummer, dat op de lantaarnpalen te vinden is: A3.

Loop nu naar waypoint 2 op N51 27.0A2 E005 24.A40
Bij de zandoever vind je hier een aantal cijfers (niet het telefoonnummer): AB CCD.

Vervolg je weg naar waypoint 3 op N51 26.(B+5)8C E005 24.(D-1)21
Hier zie je een lantaarnpaal met een bordje van Rondje Eindhoven. Het nummer van deze lantaarnpaal is EE.

Verder naar waypoint 4, op N51 26.(E+2)AA E005 24.D27
Hier vind je twee oude pilaren. Tel op de linkse pilaar het aantal oude, roestige lussen dat je ziet. Deel dat aantal door twee, dat is F.

Nu gaan we naar waypoint 5: N51 26.(E+2)BD E005 24.(F+2)AE
Zoek het huisnummer en tel beide cijfers bij elkaar op. Dit is G

Verder naar waypoint 6, op N51 26.D(F-1)8 E005 24.(G+1)67. Hier zie je twee bordjes van het fietsknooppuntennetwerk. Op de bordjes staan twee verschillende getallen.
Deel het grootste getal door het kleinste getal, dat is H

Loop nu naar waypoint 7, op N51 2G.(H-3)14 E005 24.(G+1)25
Hier zie je een blauw bordje met onder meer "AP010" er op.
X = (De twee andere getallen op het bordje bij elkaar opgeteld) * 50

Nu nog naar waypoint 8, dat vind je op N51 27.(H-2)D9 E005 24.FA2 Zoek het gele paaltje dat tegen het huisje aan staat. Onder HA vind je vier getallen met één decimaal.
Y = Deze vier getallen bij elkaar opgeteld - 0,9
Nu kun je de cache vinden op N51 27.X-Y+A E005 24.X+Y+71

Deze cache is oorspronkelijk neergelegd door LouiSearcher en door mij geadopteerd in augustus 2009. In maart 2010 is de route geheel herzien en in september 2019 wederom. In juli 2026 is de eindlocatie nog eens gewijzigd.

Important:
The only way to reach the starting coordinates legally by car from the A2 is as follows: At N51°27.835 E005°25.089 turn left,
at N51°28.089 E005°24.243 turn left again,
at N51°27.657 E005°23.897 turn left again.

At the starting location, a few cars can park on the roadside.
At these coordinates (N 51 27.338 E 5 24.368) you'll find a (even) number of concrete posts. This is A.

Because the situation at the starting point has changed a lot since the publication I can advise an alternative starting location. Around N51 27.033 E005 24.607 multiple parking places can be found. For A you can take the district number, which can be found on the lampposts: Wijk: A3.

Walk further to waypoint 3 at N51 26.(B+5)8C E005 24.(D-1)21
Here you'll see a lamppost with a sign of "Rondje Eindhoven". The number of this lamppost is EE.

We continue our walk to waypoint 4, at N51 26.(E+2)AA E005 24.D27
Here you'll find two old columns. On the left column, count he old, rusty loops that can be seen. Divide this number by two and you'll have F.

Now on to waypoint 5: N51 26.(E+2)BD E005 24.(F+2)AE
Search the house number and add up both digits. This is G

Continue to waypoint 6, at N51 26.D(F-1)8 E005 24.(G+1)67. Here you'll see two signs of the bicycle network. At the signs are two different numbers.
Divide the largest number by the smaller number, this gives you H

Now walk to waypoint 7, at N51 2G.(H-3)14 E005 24.(G+1)25
Here you'll find a white/blue sign with the text "AP010".
X = (The two other numbers on the sign added up) * 50

Only waypoint 8 is left, you'll find it at N51 27.(H-2)D9 E005 24.FA2 Look for the yellow pole against the house. Below HA you'll find four numbers with one decimal.
Y = These four numbers added up - 0,9
Now you'll find the cache at N51 27.X-Y+A E005 24.X+Y+71

This cache was originally placed by LouiSearcher and adopted by me in August 2009. In March 2010 the route has been revised and in September 2019 again. In July 2026 the final location has changed once more.
