Geocache Description:

Saturday, August 30, 9:00am to 11:30am.

We're going paddling, and we'll be collecting trash. Why not invite y'all?

Discover Pass required. We'll bring trash bags. Please bring gloves, sunscreen, hat, and a water craft. See below if you don't have a water craft but would like to participate on the water.

We like to paddle the perimeter so anticipate 3 to 4 miles. That's also where we're more likely to spot trash if at all.

We'll meet at the Sacheen Lake Public Access at 9:00am and try to hit the lake on kayaks/canoes/SUPs (motorboat if you've got one) by 9:15am. Please no foot-powered air mattresses. wink There always seems to be trash strewn about at public boat launches and along the shorelines whenever we paddle local lakes and rivers. We'll be shooting to be off the lake and back to dry land by or before 11:15am.

If you don't have a water vessel but would like to hit the water, we've got extra kayaks (ALL SPOKEN FOR AS OF 8/29/25) as well as gear (paddles, PFDs, whistles, ropes, . . .) that we'd be happy to bring along. Just post your "will attend" and send me a message so we can determine what you'll need as well as your abilities and familiarity with paddling, and we'd be happy to get you outfitted. All you have to do is show up, and it'll be waiting for you. We'll only bring enough boats and gear for those that message and reserve. We'll be there to have fun, but the safety of all participants will be of paramount importance.

Opportunities for CITO if not in a watercraft will be limited to the parking and launch areas, but you are more than welcome to join on the front or tail ends of the event. We stopped by on August 23 on our way north, and there's very little trash in those areas.

Hope to see you there!
