Metajna je majhno turistično mesto, ki se nahaja na severovzhodnem delu otoka Paga v prelepem majhnem in dobro zaščitenem zalivu.
V Metajni živi 300 stalnih prebivalcev, ki se ukvarjajo predvsem s turizmom, ribištvom, vinogradništvom in vzrejo ovac. Metajna pripada upravno mestu Novalja, od koder je oddaljena 12 kilometrov in je povezana z redno avtobusno linijo. Podnebje je zelo prijetno mediteransko z zelo vročimi in sončnimi poletji ter blagimi in deževnimi zimami. Ta del Paga je izpostavljen močnemu severovzhodnemu vetru Bura, zato je vegetacija zelo redka in daje otoku zelo značilen kamnit in puščavski videz. Čeprav na nekaterih delih otoka Paga imate občutek, da ste na drugem planetu, tu rastejo številne mediteranske vrste in dišeča zelišča.
V bližini Metajne sta dve čudoviti prodnati plaži Ručica in Beritnica, ki vas bosta pustili brez daha. Mesto je zelo tiho in mirno, tudi med največjimi poletnimi množicami, plaže pa so primerne za družine z otroki.
V bližini Metajne je 105 m visok razglednik s katerega je lep pogled proti "Marsu" in plaži Ručici, na drugo stran proti najvišjemu vrhu Paga - Sv. Vid (visok 349 metrov). Ko pa sonce zahaja, je z vrha najlepši pogled na sončni zahod.

Metajna is a small tourist town located on the northeastern part of the island of Pag in a beautiful, small, and well-protected bay.
Metajna has 300 permanent residents who are mainly engaged in tourism, fishing, viticulture, and sheep farming. Administratively, Metajna belongs to the town of Novalja, from which it is 12 kilometers away and is connected by a regular bus line. The climate is a very pleasant Mediterranean one with very hot and sunny summers and mild and rainy winters. This part of Pag is exposed to the strong northeastern wind, the Bura, so the vegetation is very rare and gives the island a very characteristic rocky and desert-like appearance. Although in some parts of the island of Pag you have the feeling that you are on another planet, numerous Mediterranean species and fragrant herbs grow here.
Nearby Metajna are two beautiful pebble beaches, Ručica and Beritnica, which will leave you breathless. The town is very quiet and peaceful, even during the biggest summer crowds, and the beaches are suitable for families with children.
There is also a 105 m high viewpoint from which there is a beautiful view of "Mars" and Ručica beach, and on the other side, towards the highest peak of Pag - St. Vid (349 meters high). When the sun sets, the most beautiful view of the sunset is from the top.
