Con questa cache proseguo, dopo quella dedicata a Porretta, una serie di multi-cache che vi faranno scoprire alcuni paesi dell'Appennino Bolognese. Oggi vi porto a Silla, che pur non avendo molte cose interessanti, penso meriti comunque una visita, anche solo per passeggiare un paio d'ore lungo il parco fluviale.
La frazione di Silla fa parte del comune di Gaggio Montano, e sorge proprio dove l'omonimo torrente Silla confluisce nel fiume Reno. L'origine del centro abitato viene fatta risalire al 1569, quando la potente famiglia Tanari di Gaggio Montano fece costruire un mulino, che putroppo ad oggi viene a trovarsi in una proprietà privata e non fa quindi parte degli step della multi (🤡).
La cache tocca alcuni punti di interesse del paese. Per completarla preparatevi ad impiegare almeno 1 ora e a camminare all’incirca per 3-4 km. Sarete sempre su asfalto, quindi non avrete bisogno di attrezzatura da trekking.
Ma ora passiamo ai numeri da raccogliere. I 7 waypoints possono essere raggiunti nell’ordine che preferite.
Step 1: Chiesa parrocchiale
Coordinate: N 44° 10.882′ E 10° 58.938′
Dedicata a San Bartolomeo, è stata consacrata nel 1953. Sorge lungo la SS Porrettana in posizione sopraelevata, con la facciata in pietra e un portale architravato.
Da trovare: A = Secondo anno sul cartello (4 cifre, la somma fa 28).
Step 2: Oratorio di San Bartolomeo
Coordinate: N 44° 10.851′ E 10° 58.886′
Fu costruito verso la fine dell'Ottocento. Anche lui è dedicato a San Bartolomeo, uno dei dodici apostoli. Ad oggi versa in stato di abbandono.
Da trovare: B = Mariarosa Guccini e Bruno Minelli. Quanti anni avevano quando sono morti? B è la somma delle loro età.
Step 3: Monumento ai caduti brasiliani
Coordinate: N 44° 10.789′ E 10° 58.765′
Dedicato alla FEB – Força Expedicionária Brasileira. Per non dimenticare chi ha dato la vita per aiutarci a liberarci dai tedeschi durante la Seconda guerra mondiale. Il monumento è stato inaugurato ad Aprile del 2025 ma quasi immediatamente vandalizzato, per ricordarci ogni giorno che l'umanità è meravigliosa.
Da trovare: C = Sul lato destro del monumento c'è un disegno. C è il numero di tre cifre in basso, sotto la parola "Historia".
Step 4: Fontana
Coordinate: N 44° 10.825′ E 10° 58.767′
"Un paese e due fiumi", una fontana che rappresenta il paese con veduta dall'alto.
Da trovare: D = Anno sulla targa (Somma delle cifre=10)
Step 5: Monumento alle vittime delle SS
Coordinate: N 44° 10.861′ E 10° 58.704′
Dedicato a coloro che sono caduti per la libertà, barbaramente trucidati dalle SS naziste.
Da trovare: Anno di 4 cifre sulla targa. (Somma delle cifre = 18)
Step 6: F104
Coordinate: N 44° 10.928′ E 10° 58.514′
Anche se forse non sembra, questo aereo è in realtà un monumento, inaugurato nel 2002 e dedicato agli aviatori caduti, sia in guerra che in pace.
Da trovare: F = Cercate il peso a vuoto in kg del velivolo. (4 cifre, somma = 19)
Step 7: Edicola dimenticata
Coordinate: N 44° 11.099′ E 10° 58.041′
Non sono riuscito a trovare nessuna informazione a riguardo, ma quando ci arrivate potete riposarvi su una delle panchine.
Da trovare: G = Anno di costruzione, in basso a destra. (4 cifre, somma delle cifre=14)

With this cache I continue, after the one dedicated to Porretta, a series of multi-caches that will take you through some villages of the Bolognese Apennines. Today I’m bringing you to Silla which, although it doesn’t have many attractions, I still think deserves a visit – even just to spend a couple of hours walking along the riverside park.
Silla is part of the municipality of Gaggio Montano, and it stands right where the Silla stream flows into the Reno river. The origin of the settlement dates back to 1569, when the powerful Tanari family from Gaggio Montano had a mill built. Unfortunately, the mill is now located on private property and therefore is not included among the steps of this multi (🤡).
The cache takes you through a few points of interest in the village. To complete it, plan to spend at least 1 hour and walk about 3–4 km. You will always be on paved roads, so no hiking gear is needed.
And now, let’s move on to the numbers you need to collect. The 7 waypoints can be visited in any order you like.
Step 1: Parish church
Coordinates: N 44° 10.882′ E 10° 58.938′
Dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, it was consecrated in 1953. It stands along the Porrettana state road in an elevated position, with a stone façade and a lintelled portal.
To find: A = Second year on the sign. (4 digits, sum of the digits=28)

It was built towards the end of the 19th century. It is also dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, one of the twelve apostles. Today it lies in a state of abandonment.

Step 3: Brazilian soldiers war memorial

Dedicated to the FEB – Força Expedicionária Brasileira. Lest we forget those who gave their lives to help free us from the Germans during World War II. The monument was inaugurated in April 2025 but was almost immediately vandalized – a daily reminder that humanity is truly wonderful.
To find: C = On the right side of the monument there is a drawing. C is the three-digit number at the bottom, under the word “Historia.”
Step 4: Fountain
Coordinates: N 44° 10.825′ E 10° 58.767′
“Un paese e due fiumi” – a fountain representing the village as seen from above.
To find: D = Year on the plaque (Sum of the digits=10).
Step 5: Monument to the Victims of the SS
Coordinates: N 44° 10.861′ E 10° 58.704′
Dedicated to those who fell for freedom, barbarously slaughtered by the Nazi SS.
To find: E = Four-digit year on the plaque (Sum of the digits = 18).
Step 6: F104
Coordinates: N 44° 10.928′ E 10° 58.514′
Even if it might not look like it, this aircraft is actually a monument, inaugurated in 2002 and dedicated to fallen aviators, both in war and in peace.
To find: F = Look for the empty weight (PESO DA VUOTO) of the aircraft in kg (4 digits, sum = 19).
Step 7: Forgotten Shrine
Coordinates: N 44° 11.099′ E 10° 58.041′
I wasn’t able to find any information about it, but once you get there you can take a rest on one of the benches.
