Welcome to the back roads of Texas. Team Texas Ra Ra loves caching on country roads and so we decided to create a summer series for others to enjoy. This series has 26 total hides, one for each letter of the alphabet. You do not have to do them in order but this is the order we hid them in.
In 1990, Ted Chiang published his first short story in Omni magazine. He went on to publish two collections of short stories, The Stories of Your Life and Others in 2016 and Exhalation: Stories in 2019. I truly love Mr. Chiang’’s short stories. I don’t usually read short stories but I make exceptions for his. They’re wonderful and dynamic stories and I’ve acquired quite some new vocabulary from his tales. Story of Your Life, a short story from his first collection, became the 2016 Oscar-nominated film, Arrival. It tells the story of aliens coming to earth, teaching a linguist a new language, and helping her perceive time in new ways. It’s an amazing movie about time and grief and love and healing. If we ever meet, I’ll show you my logogram tattoo. Logograms are the aliens’ orthographic expression of language. Have you ever read anything by Mr. Chiang or have you seen Arrival?
