柳の清水キャッシュ /Willow tree spring water Traditional Cache

The groundwater that springs up in this area has been known as "Yanagi no Shimizu" (Willow Spring)

since the Edo period due to the presence of willow trees nearby,

and was used by villagers for drinking water and rice paddy cultivation.

The water has also been selected as one of Shinagawa's 100 most scenic spots.

I set up a cache in that location.

この地に湧き出していた地下水は、そばに柳の木があったことから江戸時代より「柳の清水」として知られています。

また、村人が飲用や水田耕作に利用していました。

しながわ百景にも選出されています。
