Rudolf Khan is a highly respected elder in the world of gnomes. As a younger gnome, he worked hard, spending most of his time digging, down in the gold mines. Nowadays, he spends a great deal of time romping around in grassy garden meadows but, he always carries his faithful shovel with him and, he still works hard. As the Treasurer of Gnome, he is tasked with weighing all the golden nuggets brought up from the mine and also, with counting all the gold pieces manufactured with elfin magic.
Recently, he discovered that a small portion of the Treasury's gold pieces had mysteriously vanished and, he suspected the trickery of leprechauns... He immediately launched an investigation into the matter which revealed a passage, written in an ancient Dancing Gnome dialect, no longer used by modern gnomes...
After reading the ancient text, written upon magic paper and in the recognizable hand of Golden Toes (a childhood school chum of Rudolf's, master trickster and the most cunning of Leprechauns), Rudolf became even more determined to take back the missing gold. He set about preparing for a distant journey, gathering up a pack and loading it full of one months provisions. Then, he set off on a quest to cross the babbling brook, deep into the land of Leprechauns. He has already recovered the missing gold but he needs your help...
In order to return across the brook, back into Gnome, he needs your petition. Will you sign his log?
You will have to translate the ancient runes in order to find Rudolf and sign his petition. If you do not yet know the code of the Dancing Gnome, rumor has it that everything you need can be found by stepping through the wooden hatchway below.

Of course, Rudolf's son, Wibley Khan (who is half Leprechaun), may have taken some small pleasure in modifying what awaits you behind this hatchway...
