Geocache Description:

Number 1 for the “skinny”; number 2 for the view; then the dash for the cache. Nanton, Alberta is probably the best place to start your hunt and the one-way distance to the final cache will be about 35 km give or take. Pack your fishin’ gear, after the dash for the cache, you can go out for the trout. If you’re thinking for doing “Homes on the Range” first and then picking up this cache on the way home, don’t.

Waypoint A gives you a little history of Southern Alberta and will enable you to calculate the latitude of Waypoint B and latitude for the the final cache, which is not along “the trail”. Waypoint B will provide you with the longitude for the final cache. Double check your answers because you’re not going to want to drive all the way back.

Waypoint A - Getting the skinny
A = the number of letters in the longest word found in the text
B = the number letters in the first word of what the police called the trail
C = the number of letters in the only abbreviation used in the text
D = the number of letters in the first word of what the white traders called the trail
E = the number of letters following the word “Akapiyoyus”
F = the number of letters in the word preceding “peoples”

Now substitute your answers into the coordinates below.

Waypoint B – MICROCACHE “the view” – about 25km from A (crow flight), stay on Highway 533. You don’t have to open any gates or climb any fences.
N 50° A . B C D
W 114° 05.647 (slow down or you’ll overshoot the parking)

Final Cache – dash for the cache
N 50° F . E C C
W longitude: will be provided at Waypoint B

The final cache is a camouflaged tupper-type tub containing: cachenote, logbook, pencils, “First to the Cache” Card & a few others, sharpener, flashlight, key holder, doo-dad box, dominoes, soccer stress ball

Happy hunting and tight lines (size 12 treble hooks, velveeta cheese).
