Il Cuore del Sapere – Corno di Rosazzo
All’ingresso della scuola secondaria “Molinari Pietra” e della biblioteca civica di Corno di Rosazzo si trova oggi un’opera che è destinata a diventare simbolo visivo e culturale dell’intera comunità: il grande mosaico intitolato Il cuore del sapere.
L’opera, inaugurata il 27 marzo 2024, è stata realizzata dalla Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, istituzione conosciuta a livello internazionale per la qualità e la creatività dei suoi lavori. La composizione raffigura tre grandi ripiani colmi di libri, interpretati in chiave moderna e stilizzata. I volumi sono resi attraverso tessere di smalti veneziani, tagliate e disposte con sapiente varietà di orientamento e misura, così da evocare il gioco di luci e ombre di una vera libreria. Sono state utilizzate oltre cento tonalità cromatiche, che spaziano dai colori caldi e luminosi a quelli più scuri e profondi, dando vita a un insieme vibrante e dinamico.
Il risultato è un’immagine di forte impatto, capace di trasformare l’architettura esterna in un luogo accogliente e ispiratore, che celebra la conoscenza come bene comune. Il mosaico non è soltanto un elemento decorativo: è un manifesto culturale che lega idealmente la scuola e la biblioteca, due spazi dedicati alla crescita e all’apprendimento, al cuore stesso del sapere umano.
Quest’opera si inserisce nel solco della grande tradizione musiva friulana, che da secoli unisce artigianato, tecnica e arte contemporanea. Il cuore del sapere dimostra come il mosaico, pur radicato in una storia millenaria, possa ancora oggi parlare al presente con un linguaggio moderno e universale, capace di coinvolgere studenti, cittadini e visitatori.

At the entrance of the secondary school Molinari Pietra and the civic library of Corno di Rosazzo now stands a work destined to become a cultural and visual symbol of the entire community: the great mosaic entitled The Heart of Knowledge.
The work, inaugurated on March 27, 2024, was created by the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, an institution internationally renowned for the quality and creativity of its works. The mosaic covers more than twenty-one square meters, extending across a wall about four meters high and more than five meters wide, giving a new face to a building with a simple and functional structure.
The composition depicts three large shelves filled with books, interpreted in a modern and stylized way. The volumes are rendered through Venetian glass tiles, cut and arranged with great skill in different orientations and sizes, evoking the play of light and shadow of a real library. More than one hundred different shades of color were used, ranging from bright and warm hues to deeper and darker tones, creating a vibrant and dynamic whole.
The result is an image of strong impact, capable of transforming the external architecture into a welcoming and inspiring place, celebrating knowledge as a common good. The mosaic is not only a decorative element: it is a cultural manifesto that ideally links the school and the library—two spaces dedicated to growth and learning—to the very heart of human knowledge.
This work continues the great tradition of Friulian mosaic art, which for centuries has united craftsmanship, technique, and contemporary creativity. The Heart of Knowledge shows how mosaics, deeply rooted in an ancient history, can still today speak to the present with a modern and universal language, capable of involving students, citizens, and visitors alike.
