TheDips: Thank you everyone for helping to clean up the geocaching gameboard. We picked up nearly 10,000 cigarette butts and kept them from entering the Sound and the food chain. The last butt cleanup/CITO will be held on Halloween, the time and place to be announced in October.

World Cleanup Day Cigarette Butt Pickup

Monday, September 15th 5:30 - 6:30pm

Olympia City Hall - 601 4th Ave E

Let's do our part to clean up the Geocaching game board and help protect the South Sound by joining the Olympia Surfrider Chapter for a cigarette butt cleanup through the streets of downtown Olympia. And, you will earn the Cache In Trash Out® second season souvenir when you log this CITO.

We'll meet at the steps of Olympia City Hall to check in, sign the waiver, get pickers, buckets, counters, and then head off on different routes. We will announce an online waver when it is available just prior to the event.

While it's a cigarette butt cleanup, trash can be picked up and placed in the city streetside trash receptacles.
