🎉 Geocaching Event – Remembering BillVP & Caching Together
📍 Event Start Time: 2:00 PM
Join us as we come together to celebrate friendship, share some laughs, and tell stories about our fellow cacher BillVP. We’ll kick things off with introductions and a time to swap fun (and maybe legendary!) BillVP stories.
After that, we’ll head out to find some new caches that have been placed especially for this event. Whether you want to hunt for just one or go for them all, it’s all about enjoying the adventure together.
The official event will wrap up later in the day, but for those who wish to hang out longer, you’re more than welcome to stay — no pressure at all. Come for as long or as little as you’d like!
This is a potluck-style event, so if you’d like, feel free to bring a dish, snack, water, plates, or utensils to share. That would be greatly appreciated, but again, it’s not necessary — your company is what matters most.
🎟️ Raffle Prizes: We’ll also be raffling off some prizes during the event! If anyone would like to donate an item for the raffle, that would be wonderful, but it’s absolutely not required.
We’re looking forward to a day of fun, stories, and geocaching adventures together. Hope to see you there!
Suggested Items to Bring (pick one if you’d like):
-
Main Dishes (casseroles, crockpot meals, etc.)
-
Side Dishes (salads, chips & dip, veggies, etc.)
-
Drinks (water, soda, lemonade, iced tea, etc.)
-
Desserts (cookies, brownies, cake, etc.)
-
Plates, cups, napkins, utensils
✨ Important: Bringing food is optional — your presence is what matters most! So please don’t feel obligated to bring anything in order to attend.
We’ll have plenty of time to eat, socialize, and of course talk all things geocaching. Can’t wait to see everyone there!

                       BILL VAN PATTEN
He left us far too soon, yet his story is not finished. A true adventurer at heart, he found joy in every hidden path and every secret container discovered through Geocaching. What others passed by, he sought out with wonder—turning ordinary walks into quests and every logbook into a chapter of his story.
His passions reached far beyond the trail. In the colorful worlds of cosplay, he brought characters to life with creativity and joy. In the realms of Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings, he found inspiration, courage, and fellowship—always ready to debate the wisdom of Yoda or walk with hobbits toward distant mountains. Around the table with friends, he brought laughter and strategy to board games, proving that adventures can be found in dice rolls and shared stories just as much as in forests and fields.
Though his passing was unexpected, we remember him not with an ending, but with a journey that continues into the West. For in every cache discovered, in every costume sewn, in every story told and game played, his spirit lingers. His path does not end here. The road goes ever on, and so too does his adventure—in memory, in friendship, and in the lives he touched.
This is not “Goodbye” — it’s “Until we meet again.”
