In recent years, Taiwan’s public housing policy has become an important tool for advancing housing justice. Among the many public housing projects, “Wanhua Anju (萬華安居)” is one of the most notable recently completed developments. It sits near Longshan Temple, Huannan Market, and Wanhua Railway Station, offering excellent transportation links and convenient amenities. The site was formerly home to the West District Military Police headquarters and a Taiwan Sugar Corporation parking lot. It has now been transformed into two buildings, 13 and 14 stories above ground with 2 basement levels, totaling 300 units in studio, one‑, two‑, and three‑bedroom layouts, along with 170 car parking spaces and 201 motorcycle spaces.
Shared facilities include a central community plaza, a tree‑lined avenue, and a pedestrian courtyard connecting to Huajiang Elementary School, creating a safe route for students. On the first floor, a kindergarten accommodates up to 75 children, integrating housing with community services.
“Wanhua Anju” not only provides affordable living spaces, but through its diverse unit types and thoughtful amenity. This project is a snapshot of Taiwan’s public housing.
The cache is one of the listings of Taiwan Geocaching Party 2025 that takes place on 2025-10-10.
