Shinjuku Subcenter was planned in 1960 as part of the reorganization of Tokyo's multi-centered urban structure. Centered on the former Yodobashi Water Purification Plant site, it developed into a business district lined with skyscrapers.
The cache was placed on a pedestrian bridge with a good view of those buildings.
