This easy multi-cache has been designed to introduce you to William L. Scott Park, located on W 6 St, about four blocks east of Peninsula Drive (Route 832).
Parking coordinates are: N 42° 06.616, W080° 08.895. These will lead you to a trail head at the southwest corner of the BMX track. You know you're at the right place if you see two yellow posts with a chain between them.
The coordinates at the top of the page will take you to the first point, which is a fish-shaped stone. There is also another stone with the same coordinates nearby.
Use the coordinates found at the first point to take you to the second point, which is in an average cache container, but may be hard to get at. Another stone with the same coordinates was also placed near the cache.
The third and final point has a large cache container filled with goodies.
Plan about 60 to 90 minutes and about 1.0-1.2 miles (1.6-2.0km) of walking.
Larry Massey, the landscape architect who designed the layout for the park, was very impressed by the trees (some centuries old) that remain in the north end of the park. We hope you will enjoy them as well.
The park is laced with wide and narrow trails, so no extensive bushwhacking is needed to find any of the three points, unless your GPS goes cuckoo (or berzerk, or crazy, or whatever you might call it). The north end of the park overlooks the west end of Presque Isle Bay. The view is especially good once the leaves have fallen.
While placing the caches (and checking to see that they were still there), we encountered many people walking their dogs, so apparently dogs are welcome in this park.
Rehide this cache very well, as there have been muggle sightings nearby!
