The Ladies of the Night cache is an ode to a Ukiah relic, that I believe is relatively unknown. Placed in the 1970s the plaque pays homage to the "Ladies of the Night" of the late 1800s and early 1900s in Ukiah. Plenty of historical record referring to the old brick building on the corner of Church and State Street, the site in which "the ladies of the night plied their trade upon this site". I appreciate the plaque to acknowledge the historical social and economical hardships of women even in our local area! In a time of pure California gold rush, a piece of Americana history was created right downtown for many other other reasons besides the gold itself!
The cache itself is very "flashy" and unique. Make sure to BYOP!
If your on the sidewalk, reading the plaque, you're practically right next to the cache!
