[DEU] Die neue Kirche von Corvara, Kirche zum Hl. Herz Jesu, ist im Jahre 1959 eingeweiht worden. Hoch ragt der schlanke Kirchturm mitten im Zentrum des Ortes an der Hauptstraße in den Himmel empor.
Das zentrale Thema des Sakralbaus bildet die überlebensgroße Plastik über dem Altar. Dieses Kunstwerk stellt das Herz Jesu dar, dem die Kirche geweiht ist.
Sehenswert sind auch die reich verzierten riesigen Prozessionsfahnen. Diese kommen alle drei Jahre auf der Wallfahrt der Männer des Gadertales zum Kloster Säben zum Einsatz. Die Gemeinde feiert am 17. Juni das Patrozinium.
[ITA] La nuova chiesa di Corvara, la Chiesa del Sacro Cuore di Gesù, fu consacrata nel 1959. L'elegante campanile si erge alto nel centro del paese, sulla via principale.
Il tema centrale di questo edificio sacro è la scultura di grandi dimensioni sopra l'altare. Quest'opera d'arte raffigura il Sacro Cuore di Gesù, a cui la chiesa è dedicata.
Da vedere anche le gigantesche bandiere processionali, riccamente decorate, che vengono utilizzate ogni tre anni durante il pellegrinaggio degli uomini della Val Badia al Monastero di Sabiona. La comunità celebra la festa patronale il 17 giugno.
[ENG] The new church in Corvara, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was consecrated in 1959. The slender church tower rises high into the sky in the center of town on the main street.
The central theme of this sacred building is the larger-than-life sculpture above the altar. This work of art depicts the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to whom the church is dedicated.
Also worth seeing are the richly decorated, giant processional flags. These are used every three years during the pilgrimage of the men of Val Badia to the Säben Monastery. The community celebrates the patron saint's day on June 17th.
