2025 was a stellar year for geocaching in New Zealand, what with a year of Community Celebration Events and a Locationless Cache to commemorate the silver jubilee of caching, not to mention NZ holding it's first ever Block Party in Rotorua.
And now our attention turns towards the top of the south, where many of us will gather in a little over 4 months time to enjoy what I'm sure will be a fantastic Nelson Mega.
So this Wellywood Wednesday is going to be a little different. Not with the venue, which should be familiar to many of you, but with the focus for the evening. For whilst I am sure that there will be the usual mix of geo-chatter and laughter, puzzle tips and hints to go around, and plans drawn up to hit a trail or two etc, I will be highlighting a few things that we can all look forward to experiencing at the Nelson Mega. It will also be a good opportunity to ask questions about any aspect of it that you may be unsure of.
In addition, there could be some interesting news regarding the future of Mega events in New Zealand.
If you are relatively new to geocaching, and want to know what all the fuss is about for a Mega, this is the event to attend to get all your answers.
So come along for an enjoyable and informative evening. I've suggested that this event runs for 90 minutes, but there's no obligation to stay that long, and conversely you might find the chatter goes on beyond 7:30 :)
