Recently, I have spent a fair amount f time in both Schiller and Chevalier Forest Preserves. While here, I noticed a fair amount of garbage along the road and into the woods. The trails have some, mostly nearer to the paviliions and playing flelds. With the high weekly weekend usage, the FPD keeps a lot of the preserve in pretty decent shape. That being said, a CITO is never not appreciated.
I have chosen a centrally located area so pickers can span out in all directions to gather. Parking is plentiful. I will supply garbage bags but you will need to supply your own hand and eye (if desired) protection as well as garbage pickers. The CITO is scheduled for 1 hour.
After the event, there are plenty of caches in both Schiller Woods and Catherine Chevalier Woods. Some caches need a TOTT so I'd suggest bringing a couple as needed and some extra time. The weather at the end of September can be a crapshoot so dress accordingly.
