Geocache Description:

Great Western Park GeoCache Series

After our recently placed GeoCache Series at Great Western Park (GWP) (cache #1-11, 14) and in central Didcot (cache #12-13, 15-16), we decide to place a few more caches at GWP and in other parts of Didcot. We hope you enjoy these new caches, thank you!

Great Western Park #17 - Eagle Wants Wild

This cache is a bit personal, as the cache title tells, eaglewantswild is my caching name, and I love eagles and nature, and wish all eagles can fly and live happily and safely in the wild. I started my caching journey since April 2025 so still quite new to it, but I immediately fell in love with geocaching and it makes my life healthier. I also learnt a lot from other local cachers I met while caching or attending events and became friends with them. Sometimes I also take my GeoKids to find some caches and we all love the experience and memory.

About this GeoCache:

This cache is a bison tube and placed close to a quiet footpath from Great Western Park (GWP) to Harwell, which we often walk along. The path can be very muddy after the rain, and as of November 2025 there are construction works going on nearby so please be safe while walking or caching.

Not sure if this quiet footpath would remain quiet very long, given more and more new houses are being built in this area, but we hope more cachers, old and new, will also move in and join our caching community!

Please also note:

Please bring your own pen, and open & close the cache lid carefully so the cache and log book can survive longer. You might need a tweezer to help retrieve the log paper.

The cache is close to a footpath, so please be safe and expect muggles at sometimes of the day.

Please also replace exactly as found due to obvious reason, and please be careful with the possible thorns, stinging nettles, and overhead tree branches! Long sleeves, trousers, and gloves are recommended.

You do not need to cross any fence or enter any private land.

Thank you and enjoy GeoCaching!

FTF: Congratulations to Lmw1980 for their FTF on 21 November 2025!
