Connect the Dots I Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A scenic hike to the top of Mount La Tuna. Distance of 1 to 2.5 miles or more to the cache, depending on the trail you choose. Elevation approximately 1700 ft.

This is one of our "connect-the-dots" caches, so called because there are quite a few caches along the crestline of the Verdugo Hills... but there are long cache-less stretches as well. We decided to fill in the gaps a bit, so that cachers anywhere on the Verdugo road could always find a cache nearby.

The Verdugos are covered with trails for horses, bikes, and hikers. You may want to check out this map of trails in the area. (We used the "Village School" trail to reach Mount La Tuna, but there are many other options available.)

The cache is an ammo box with a Geocaching sticker on the side. It is very close to the top of Mount La Tuna, so be sure to take time to enjoy the nearly 360° view of the surrounding areas.

A cautionary note for summer visitors - summertime is rattlesnake season in the Verdugos. So please watch your step!
