You’ve found your way to the duck pond in Gilið, where the ducks swim and play. While they’re busy paddling, there’s a little treasure nearby just waiting to be discovered!
The cache is hidden close to a bench by the pond. Look carefully, use your detective eyes, and you’ll spot it. Be sneaky though — we don’t want to give away the secret to everyone walking past!
This cache has only a logbook, so don’t forget to bring your own pen to sign. ✍️

The name Gilið means “the gully,” and locals have used it for generations. Long ago, this area was full of busy factories built by a local co-op, but today it has transformed into a lively street of art, cafés, and creativity.
Nearby, you’ll also find Iceland’s very first public park, LystigarĂ°urinn, created in 1912 by a group of women who loved nature. Over time, it grew into the amazing botanical garden that now has more than 6,000 plant species from all around the world!Â
