The March 2010 "Monsoon March" in Massachusetts was a record-breaking period of intense rainfall, with over 14 inches falling in Boston, the most in the city's history for that month. Three slow-moving low-pressure systems brought heavy rain and tropical moisture, causing widespread flooding across the state. Governor Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency, activating the National Guard to assist with evacuations and damage. Flooding closed roads, including portions of commuter rail lines, damaged infrastructure, and led to sewage overflows into Boston Harbor.
I remember the flood of 2010, the Norwood Airport nearby was flooded and had to close for several days. The Neponset River, right near to this cache, overflowed and reached all lowlands parts of this area, including this Farnham and Connolly Memorial Park and all surrounding trails.
It took several weeks for this area to see the waters recede back to normal levels. So, this area has a high probability of flood, that is why all of my Traditional caches on this trail are hidden above ground level.
The cache is small, please bring pen.
The park is open only during daytime (dawn to dusk).
Congratulations to kflem on the FTF!
