Geocache Description:


An early morning event to celebrate Railway 200 at the published cordinates.

They will be the usual opportunties to exchange TB' s and plenty of Geo-chat!

We welcome new cashers. Please introduce yourselves.

 

The famous engineer George Stephenson planned the railway in 1831.His idea was to create new trade routes from the important seaport of Whitby.

The line between Grosmont and Rillington closed in 1965. However the section between Grosmont and Pickering was reopened in 1973.
