WisdomÂ

Â
This new mural, titled Wisdom was created by Annapolis-based artists Jeff Huntington (aka Jahru) and Julia Gibb.
It is intended to bring awareness to local wildlife and the Patuxent River while honoring Dr. Chandler Robbins (1918â2017) of Laurel, Maryland. Known affectionately as Chan, he was one of the most widely admired and internationally respected field ornithologists. His contributions to the field include co-authorship of an influential field guide to birds, as well as organizing the
North American Breeding Bird Survey. Robbins banded a female Laysan albatross named
Wisdom on Midway Island in 1956. As of 2025, Wisdom is at least 74 years old and is the oldest verified living wild bird. You can read more about Dr. RobbinsÂ
HERE.
Â
This project was commissioned by Laurel for the Patuxent and supported by the local community. You can visit the Dr. Chandler S. Robbins Outdoor Education Center and Walk the Wisdom Trail honoring the legacy of Chan Robbins at nearby Patuxent Research Refuge Visitors Center.

At the posted coordinates you can view the mural, but not the cache. It is located a short distance away. To obtain the coordinates for the final location you will need to find a little information here. Across from the mural is a church parking lot and a flight of stairs. Adjacent to the top of the stairs in the parking lot is a white sign with red lettering. On the sign there are six lines of text, not counting the title. Enter the first letters of each line of text (6 letters total) with no spaces into the Certitude checker to receive the coordinates and a hint for the final location. Before you leave don't forget to take a picture of the mural at the viewing spot next to the sign.

You can validate your puzzle solution with
certitude.
Â
Limited parking is available at both locations. Please use stealth while retrieving and replacing the cache.
