万年堰は宮代町の北端、和戸と国納地区の境界、備前前堀川に設けられていた、
煉瓦造りの堰です。右岸側の地区へ農業用水を送水していました。
新しい堰の建設に伴い、煉瓦造りの堰は昭和54年(1979)に撤去されました。
宮代町和戸の現・万年堰の脇には、旧堰の遺構と竣工記念碑が残されています。

Mannen-weir was built on the Bizen-maehori River at the northern edge of Miyashiro-cho, on the boundary between Wado and Kuninoh district.
It is a brick weir. It supplied water for agricultural use to the district on the right bank.
With the construction of a new weir, the brick weir was removed in 1979.
The remains of the old weir and a monument commemorating its completion remain beside the current Mannen-weir in Wado, Miyashiro-cho.
